We missed you at the

Big Campaign Rally
Angel Island

Sunday, September 21

Three years ago, the Winkelman campaign challenged the major candidates, Bush and Gore, to a debate on Angel Island.  But they didn't show up - neither of them could find the ferry.

This year, things were different.  All the candidates couldn't fit on the ferry.

A huge throng, estimated by rally organizers at some five thousand people, greeted the candidate.
Rabid Winkelman supporters marched several times around the island, whispering Peace and Quiet Party slogans, like "Don't Honk if You Support Winkelman."

Winkelman led the crowd in the party cheer:  "Peace and Quiet - Shhhh!"

Winkelman took the stump along with Helga, his running mate for Lieutenant Governor.  (Since Helga can't read, she doesn't know that the Lieutenant Governor spot isn't up in this election).  Winkelman took questions from the audience, but since he has no position on any of the issues, Helga answered them all.

Helga drew enthusiastic support among the crowd, many of whom can't read either.

Courting the senior vote, Winkelman took the opportunity to become better acquainted with some of the voters.

Dan and the crowd danced to the Delta Dixielanders band.

Then it was time for the busy candidate to leave.  He had a ferry to catch ...

The rally was sponsored by the Tiburon League of Women Boaters.  For more information, email Dan's campaign manager.
